Straight out of a fairytale (and a British staycation!), the Little Otter Canal Boat is a home for a family of Merrywood Otters! Though it isn't designed for real water, it is delightfully designed in a pretty colour palette with 'repurposed' finds and with little fingers in mind.
Our new otter family live on the river in a beautiful canal boat called "Malardeau", named after their favourite mallard duck, who sits proudly at the front at the bow end.
The roof of this doll's houseboat is removable, and the cabin can be lifted out for more space during playtime. This set has many accessories, designed especially to support language development, emotional awareness, and storytelling activities with young children.
Doll characters Suzy, Skipper and Smudge are included in this set, alongside; a wood burning stove, matchbox set of drawers, jam jar lid table, 3 bottle tops, 3 knitted sleeping bags, row of vegetables, flowerpot, coffee pot and jam pot.
The accessories included in this set resemble real-life items which have been borrowed by our river residents, borrowing bottle tops and re-purposing various food packaging and straws to decorate their home. Check out the little fishing rod at the back, and the stripy straw that doubles as a chimney. Very sustainable indeed!
Why we love it: The design is so appealing and imagination-sparking! We love that it is a take-and-play toy whereby everything fits neatly inside and that it's been designed with wheels and a pull along string. great for taking on trips! With furniture and a doll family included, it makes a beautifully complete gift, and is sized to complement the Sailaway Boat, Timer Taxi and Bunny and Bear Families, should you want add-ons.

The Little Otter Canal Boat is gorgeous! Beautifully crafted with much attention to detail and painted in the most lovely warm colours. Perfect for little hands to play with. My grandson, Max, loves putting Skipper, Suzy and Smudge to sleep in their sleeping bags. Highly recommended.
